Bomb attack on UK police station

A UK police station has come under bomb attack.

The car bomb exploded near Strand Road police station in Derry, Northern Ireland, reports The Belfast Telegraph.

Two men, one armed with a firearm, left a device in a taxi and then ordered the driver to go to Strand Road.

The alert began just after 3am on Tuesday morning, August 3.

Derry's mayor, Colm Eastwood, said: "There seems to be a fair bit of damage to the police station and some of the buildings across the road."

There are no reports of any injuries.
